She is one of the cinema stars who swapped the big screen for the small one. The move to streaming was a good and necessary step because there were no longer prominent roles for Jennifer Lopez in Hollywood. Now, mainly thanks to Netflix productions, she is back on top.

Jennifer Lopez's first streaming film was "The Mother," which appeared on the Netflix platform in 2023. The action thriller received terrible reviews, but critics were already amazed after a few days of streaming. "The Mother" became one of the biggest hits in streaming history, recording 136 million views worldwide.

The second Netflix film with the pop star was "Atlas." This year's sci-fi production also enjoyed great popularity (over 80 million views) and was heavily criticized by experts. Many criticisms were directed at the actress herself: A critic from Decider remarked that the film might have been tolerable if not for Jennifer Lopez's overly dramatic performance. As the producer, she seemed to have overestimated her acting skills. The critic went so far as to call it the worst role of her career.

In the eyes of critics, Lopez redeemed herself in the film "Unstoppable," which was produced by the Amazon Prime Video platform and had its gala premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. The actress played the mother of a disabled athlete who became a national wrestling champion. The next streaming production with Lopez will be the Netflix-produced romantic comedy "Office Romance."

There is a chance that this time it will be a good film. Netflix will finance an original project by Brett Goldstein, the star and co-writer of the excellent comedy series Ted Lasso and a two-time Emmy Award winner. Lopez will, of course, be the main character in the office romance.

There is also hope for a good film because the pop star, as an actress, has been best suited for romantic comedies. In this genre, she achieved her greatest successes on the big screen: "The Wedding Planner," "Maid in Manhattan," "Shall We Dance," and "Monster-in-Law." These films were not only very popular but also received decent reviews.
