The Maserati Gran Cabrio is unquestionably one of the more intriguing products of modern Italian automotive manufacturing. Well-maintained examples can be quite a catch for car enthusiasts. This particular one isn't well-maintained, but it boasts a highly interesting history.

This is the car that James May drove through Mauritania in the second-last episode of the show "The Grand Tour." Jeremy Clarkson opted for a Jaguar F-Type, Richard Hammond chose an Aston Martin DB9, and May selected his Maserati. The cars were heavily modified to withstand the challenges of the Sahara, with noticeably increased ground clearance, off-road tires, and additional underbody protection.

Now, the unique Maserati has gone up for sale. A few days ago, it appeared on British eBay. According to the seller, "it looks exactly the same as the day it returned to the UK after filming ended." It was stored indoors but has never been washed.

Unfortunately, the car can't be used on public roads due to the modifications made. However, it's doubtful that a potential buyer would find this an issue.
