Cracked heels are an issue that affects many people, especially in the summer when we wear sandals, exposing our feet. At that time, we want them to be perfectly smooth. However, there is an effective and inexpensive way to solve the problem of dry heels.

Dryness and cracks on the heels are particularly troublesome in the summer. Many people try to quickly remove the hardening skin by using pumice stones and vigorously scrubbing their heels.

However, this approach is wrong - although it brings temporary relief, it does not solve the problem in the long run. Many practical and affordable solutions will allow you to eliminate this issue much more effectively.

For instance, a gentle foot scrub will work better. This is a very effective solution. Instead of damaging the skin, it will gradually exfoliate dead skin, improving the appearance of the heels. You don't need expensive products for this either - baking soda will do the job perfectly.

This commonly available kitchen powder not only has uses in baking or cleaning. It can also become the basis of a homemade cosmetic. Importantly, its preparation is not difficult at all.

Just mix two tablespoons of baking soda with one tablespoon of water. Apply the resulting paste to your feet, especially the heels, and leave it for a few minutes. Then rinse your feet, dry them thoroughly, and apply a moisturizing or lubricating cream. The effect should be visible immediately.

Alternatively, prepare a foot bath with baking soda and salt. Simply add two tablespoons of baking soda and two tablespoons of salt to warm water in a basin, and then soak your feet for about 15 minutes. This will make the heel care process more pleasant. Adding oils, such as lavender or eucalyptus, will make the treatment even more relaxing. After the bath, dry your feet and apply a cream.

dry heels do not appear without reason

The appearance of dry heels, in many cases, is not accidental. They can result from wearing tight shoes and other factors, including health issues. They affect people who are overweight, have a vitamin A deficiency, diabetes, hypothyroidism, or rheumatism.

Pregnant women can also experience cracked heels, which often result from wearing high heels or improper foot hygiene. Addressing these issues is precisely how we should start eliminating this problem.

If the methods mentioned above fail, a visit to a doctor may be necessary. A specialist will certainly accurately determine the source of the problem and implement appropriate treatment.
