We are all aware that without the right amount of fruits in our diet, our health and the condition of our bodies will come into question. So, we stock our homes with fresh produce from the local shop and ensure they are always at hand. However, this — although correct — concept comes with an unpleasant consequence. Fruits, as you probably know, are not very time-resistant.

Especially in the summer, the rotting of fruits, losing their flavour, and moulding becomes particularly troublesome. You would certainly give a lot to avoid this. According to Marta Zaleska, a food technologist who occasionally shares her professional secrets on social media, achieving a positive result doesn't require much. And no, you don’t need to equip yourself with any particular apparatus. Indeed, what you already have at home is enough.

Food technologist advises: Do this, and fruits will stay fresh longer

Recently, a video was posted on Marta Zaleska's Instagram showing the food technologist showing her weekly strawberries. How did they look? Well, actually, just like they were picked from the bush. The question is: How is that possible? The answer can be found in the same video.

According to the specialist, we need a bowl, paper towel, and plate to store berries such as strawberries or blueberries effectively. Of course, we can also use a plastic, sealable food container. Either way, we must ensure that the fruits we store are not exposed to continuous contact with the air. Besides, we only need to do one more thing: cover our strawberries with a paper towel.

That's all, and so much more. As Marta Zaleska pointed out, we often complain about fruits being expensive. At the same time, they are the ones we throw away most frequently due to spoilage. Therefore, it’s worth preventing this — even for your economic satisfaction.
