Germany to deliver 4,000 kamikaze drones to Ukraine

Germany will soon begin mass deliveries of kamikaze drones to Ukraine, reports "Bild," citing its sources and Defense Minister Boris Pistorius. This involves 4,000 drones, which are referred to as "mini-Taurus."

Germany is set to start mass shipments of assault drones manufactured by Helsing to Ukraine. These drones are capable of attacking targets far from the front line. They are compared to the Taurus missiles, which Chancellor Olaf Scholz has categorically refused to supply.

As "Bild" describes, the drone's main feature is its advanced software, which helps it "navigate" the terrain and resist enemy electronic warfare measures. For instance, once the drone identifies a target and its operator confirms it, the machine can attack even if communication is lost.

The flight range is reportedly four times that of typical Ukrainian kamikaze drones, and they are significantly cheaper than the American Switchblade or Russian Lancets.

Thousands of drones for Ukraine

Ukraine is set to receive 4,000 of these drones. Starting in December, they will be delivered in batches of several hundred per month.

The drone prototypes are already being tested in real combat conditions in eastern Ukraine.

Pistorius stated that "he is very happy that the delivery of these drones equipped with artificial intelligence is already starting" and that Ukraine can use them against important enemy targets, such as command posts.
