In winter, we ventilate rooms much less frequently, which can accumulate unpleasant odours. However, there is a way to fix this. Just try a trick with a popular detergent.
Fall and winter are the times when we use radiators most intensively. A dusty radiator can be less efficient, leading to higher bills and uneven heat distribution in the room. Regular cleaning of the radiator not only ensures better heat distribution but also protects the health of household members.
Pollutants accumulating in radiators can worsen air quality, which is particularly dangerous for people with allergies. Cleaning the radiator eliminates dust and other harmful substances that can be inhaled with the air.
How to effectively clean a radiator?
Before you start cleaning, make sure the heating is turned off. Then grab a hair dryer to "blow out" dust from hard-to-reach areas in the radiator. This way, you quickly remove larger pollutants.
In the next step, prepare a large bowl, fill it with warm water, and add a capful of your favourite fabric softener. Remove the top part of the radiator and clean it thoroughly. Then wipe the fronts and sides. In the last step, just pour the fragrant liquid into the slots of the radiator, which will wash out all the dirt from hard-to-reach places.
Don't forget to protect the floor with towels beforehand to prevent water with contaminants from flooding the entire room.
