Elon Musk, via the platform X (which he owns), spoke with former President of the United States Donald Trump. The owner of SpaceX and Tesla officially endorsed Trump's candidacy in July, after a failed assassination attempt on his life.
During the chaotic conversation that lasted over two hours and drew attention to both domestic and international politics, Trump accused the current President, Joe Biden, of causing the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine. He also pointed out that as President, he would not have allowed Russia's aggression towards Ukraine, citing his previous good relations with Putin.
- I told Vladimir Putin, don't do this. You can't do this, Vladimir, it's going to be a bad day for you (...) And I told him the things I would do. He responded: - No way -. I replied: - Yes way - recalled Donald Trump.
The former US President emphasized that he "got along well with Putin" and "hopes to get along well with him again."
Trump and Musk's conversation touched on various important issues, from foreign policy to the economy. Both agreed on the importance of matters such as illegal immigration, criticism of the EU, and the need for support for Israel. They highlighted the need for changes in energy and defence policies.
Trump repeatedly condemned the actions of the current US President, Joe Biden. He accused him of making weak political decisions and painted a scenario of the United States in decline if the Democratic candidate were re-elected as President.
The conversation between the politician and the billionaire was accompanied by numerous technical problems. Musk and his team had to deal with a cyberattack that disrupted and delayed the interview's broadcast. Commentators also noted Trump's unusual lisp.
