It took a long time, but eggs have shed their false reputation. Nowadays, almost no one believes that they negatively impact cholesterol and need to be rationed. There are no contraindications to eating them even daily. A question may arise: Is it better to plan a morning or evening meal for them? We explain.

Nutritionists believe that we can safely eat one or two eggs daily. There is no need to worry about cholesterol because they raise it only slightly. Eggs, although relatively high in calories (one boiled egg has 155 kcal or 650 kJ), are not fattening because they are very filling.

What is hidden in eggs?

Eggs are a good source of high-quality protein, which is easily absorbed. They also contain the cholesterol we need and a bunch of vitamins – D, A, E, and B-complex. They are rich in iodine, phosphorus, calcium, and omega-3 fatty acids. We can eat them in many ways, from soft-boiled, hard-boiled, and fried to scrambled eggs, which we often choose for breakfast. But is it perhaps more beneficial to eat them in the evening?

Eggs in the morning add energy

Nutritionists argue that it is worth eating eggs at any time of day as they simply affect us differently. When you choose eggs for breakfast, you provide yourself with a large portion of protein, which gives you energy and satisfies hunger for a long time. This significantly reduces the tendency to snack before the next meal. Moreover, eggs are an excellent source of vitamins and minerals, giving you the strength for the challenges of the day.

In the evening they improve sleep

Eggs for dinner also have many benefits. First and foremost, they help you fall asleep faster because they contain tryptophan. This amino acid affects sleep and its quality. It's worth eating them in the evening, for example, after a workout or an intense day. The protein they contain speeds up the recovery process and supports muscle rebuilding. However, if you have problems with digestion, it's better to avoid fried eggs as they can be too indigestible.
