The main character of "The Substance" is Elisabeth Sparkle (Demi Moore), an aging star of a TV show who experiences horrific consequences after taking an illegal drug, which, according to the supplier, is supposed to transform her into a younger, better version of herself.

"Thanks to The Substance, you can create another you: younger, more beautiful, perfect. You just have to remember one thing: to divide your time between both selves, the old and the new. One week for one, one week for the other. Perfect balance with no deviations. It's simple, right? As long as you don't try to bend the rules, everything will be fine," encourages the producer of the mysterious drug.

In the "younger and better" version of the character played by Demi Moore, Margaret Qualley stars, whom viewers may recognize from "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood." It is not hard to guess that the consequences of the experiment involving both stars will be tragic.

The film has already been shown at the Cannes festival, where it won an award for its screenplay and received an 11-minute standing ovation, as well as at the New Horizons in Wroclaw, where it sparked extremely enthusiastic reactions. "A blast," "Totally mind-blowing," "Demi's best role in her career," critics wrote.

Opinions have surfaced online that viewers felt quite nauseous after the screening. The film is classified as a horror.
