Potatoes are one of our treasures and true chameleons in the kitchen. They can be used not only to make purée, cutlets, or fries, but also delicious sticks in a crispy coating. They are irresistible and always disappear first at gatherings. This recipe is perfect for using up leftover potatoes from the previous day. They'll quickly gain a new, delicious, and crispy life.

Potato sticks

This is simple. Just grab some potatoes and starch, and season with salt and pepper. You can also add sweet or hot paprika and Herbes de Provence if you like bold flavours. A moment of waiting for them to freeze, then a moment of frying, and you can indulge.

Ingredients:

  • 1 kilogram of cooked potatoes,
  • salt and pepper to taste,
  • 2 tablespoons of potato starch,
  • oil for frying,
  • ketchup for drizzling,
  • parsley or chives.

Method of preparation:

Step 1. Cook the potatoes in salted water and mash them after cooking. You can also use leftovers from the previous day.

Step 2. Add potato starch, salt, and pepper, and mix.

Step 3. Transfer the mixture to a large zip-lock bag, flatten it, seal, and place it in the freezer for 2 hours.

Step 4. After this time, remove the mixture by cutting the bag open. Place it on a cutting board and cut it into sticks.

Step 5. Fry the sticks in hot, deep oil until they start to brown. Place them on paper towels to remove excess oil. Drizzle with ketchup and sprinkle with chopped parsley. Enjoy!
