CNN presenter Kasie Hunt interrupted the interview with Trump's spokesperson after she began attacking Jake Tapper and Dana Bash, who will lead Thursday's debate between Joe Biden and Donald Trump.

During the interview, the Trump campaign's national press secretary Karoline Leavitt said that the former president is knowingly stepping into a "hostile environment on this very network," with debate moderators who have clearly expressed their opinions about him over the past eight years and prepared biased reports about the president.

Hearing strong accusations against her colleagues, Hunt did not intend to remain silent. The journalist asserted that her editorial colleagues "have acquitted themselves as professionals as they have covered campaigns and interviewed candidates from all sides of the aisle." She noted, "If you’re attacking the moderators, you’re usually losing."

Hunt attempted to return to the topic of Trump's debate preparations, but Leavitt continued to attack Tapper. She said, "Well, first of all, it would take someone five minutes to Google ‘Jake Tapper Donald Trump’ to see Jake Tapper has consistently…". The CNN journalist did not let Leavitt finish her sentence, threatening to end the interview if they did not return to the topic.

Ma’am, we’re going to stop this interview if you’re going to keep attacking my colleagues, Hunt said firmly.

It didn't stop at the warnings

Despite the warning, Leavitt tried to prove that the hosts of Thursday's debate do not favour Trump. - I am stating facts that your colleagues have stated in the past… - said Trump's spokesperson again.

Hunt decided to end their conversation at that point. She thanked Leavitt for her presence and assured her that she would be welcome in the program if she wanted to talk about the topic without undermining the professionalism of her colleagues. A little later, Kasie Hunt posted about the interview on the X portal.

You come on my show, you respect my colleagues. Period. I don’t care what side of the aisle you stand on, as my track record clearly shows, she wrote.
