As you age, beauty routines may require some modifications. If you want to maintain a youthful appearance, consider hair colouring that rejuvenates your look. Check out which shades are suitable for mature women.

Many women over 50 decide to change their image to feel fresh and younger. One of the most effective ways to achieve a youthful look is by choosing the right hair colour.

Some colours have a "rejuvenating power." For example, blonde suits almost every type of beauty – it doesn't accentuate skin redness and helps hide signs of aging. But which shades are on the so-called blacklist?

Blonde is the perfect choice for mature women

One of the most effective and simple ways to look younger is to change your hair colour. Blonde brightens the face and can mask fine wrinkles. An advantage is that such colouring is easy to maintain and doesn't require frequent visits to the hairdresser.

Like ash or sandy blonde, cool-toned blondes are especially recommended for fair-skinned women. They help minimize the visibility of broken capillaries and redness, a common problem among mature women. As a result, the complexion looks fresher and more radiant, and wrinkles become less noticeable.

Bronde in the style of Jennifer Lopez

The combination of brown and blonde, known as bronde, is extremely interesting. The roots are darker, and the lengths are lightened. This combination is perfect for brunettes because it doesn't require frequent visits to the hairdresser, and grey strands appear as highlights. Jennifer Lopez is a huge fan of this trick, wearing bronde for years and looking impeccable.

These colours add years

Avoid high-contrast colours, as they can highlight wrinkles and discolourations. The most unfavourable colour is deep black, which can make your face look tired and older.

Reds, burgundies, and auburns are also not recommended, as they can emphasize a pale complexion. Auburn is one of the hardest colours to maintain and doesn't suit many types of beauty.

It can additionally highlight skin imperfections, such as redness and irritation. Blondes with yellow or orange tones can also be risky, as they often emphasize imperfections.
