The most common problems when preparing butter cookies

Although the recipe for butter cookies is simple, many people encounter certain difficulties during their preparation. One of the biggest challenges is kneading cold dough, which can be quite troublesome. Additionally, rolling out dough often ends up with it sticking to the board, making it difficult to shape the cookies.

The secret lies in chilling the rolled-out dough

Instead of struggling with kneading and rolling out hard dough, it's worth chilling it after rolling it out. This way, the dough will be more flexible, easier to shape, and the risk of sticking to the board will be greatly reduced.

A simple recipe for butter cookies

Butter cookies with the addition of vanilla pudding are a real treat for your taste buds. The pudding gives them a unique flavour and aroma that highlights their special character. Here's how to prepare these small sweet treats:

Ingredients:

  • 325 mL of all-purpose flour,
  • 180 mL of cold butter,
  • 125 mL of powdered sugar,
  • 85 mL of vanilla pudding mix (unsweetened),
  • 1 egg yolk.

Preparation:

  1. Chop the cold butter with the flour, add powdered sugar, pudding, and egg yolk. Quickly knead the dough until you get a uniform mass. Try to do this efficiently so the butter doesn’t have time to warm up.
  2. Roll out the dough between two sheets of baking paper to a thickness of about 6 mm. Then place it flat in the fridge for 20-30 minutes.
  3. After cooling the dough, immediately cut out any shapes using cookie cutters or a knife. If the dough sticks, lightly sprinkle it with flour.
  4. Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake at 180°C for 12-15 minutes, until they turn golden.

Making delicious butter cookies doesn’t have to be difficult at all. You just need to know a few simple tricks to enjoy homemade baked goods anytime. Thanks to chilling the rolled-out dough, the process of preparing cookies will become pure pleasure.
