Cauliflower often appears on our tables, but we don't always fully appreciate its flavour. One of the most popular ways to bring out its full aroma is to prepare cauliflower with breadcrumbs and butter. I add one more ingredient to enhance the entire dish.

Cauliflower has a delicate, slightly nutty flavour that pairs perfectly with crispy breadcrumbs. It must be heated in melted butter in a pan. The addition of butter makes the dish more creamy and rich. The breadcrumbs give the cauliflower a crunch, but it's important not to make the mixture too thick.

Cauliflower and garlic? It's going to be delicious

How else can you serve this seasonal vegetable? It turns out that it's worth adding garlic to the breadcrumbs. This addition introduces an intense, spicy accent. You can choose strong, fresh garlic cloves or go for garlic flakes, which are popular among chefs. The latter ingredient has a lower risk of burning and ruining the dish.

How to prepare cauliflower with breadcrumbs and garlic?

Ingredients:

  • 1 head of cauliflower,
  • 125 mL of breadcrumbs,
  • 60 grams of butter,
  • 2-3 cloves of garlic,
  • salt and pepper (to taste),
  • parsley (for garnish — optional).


Preparation:

  1. Wash the cauliflower, break it into florets, and cook it in salted water until tender (about 10-15 minutes). After cooking, drain the cauliflower and set it aside.
  2. Melt the butter in a large pan. Add the chopped garlic and sauté for about a minute until fragrant. Add the breadcrumbs and sauté, stirring constantly, until the breadcrumbs are golden and crispy (about 3-5 minutes). Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Add the cooked cauliflower to the pan with the breadcrumbs and gently mix until the cauliflower florets are coated with the breadcrumbs and butter. Heat everything together for a few minutes until the cauliflower is warm.
  4. Transfer the cauliflower with breadcrumbs and garlic to a plate. Sprinkle with chopped parsley for added flavour and colour.
