The British intelligence service has published satellite images of the Russian airbase in Marinovka, which Ukrainians attacked on August 22. The strike was successful, and the base was destroyed.

In its daily summary of the war in Ukraine, the British intelligence service revisited on Monday the attack on the Marinovka airbase, located in the Volgograd region. The attack took place on August 22 this year.

The strike proved effective and caused significant damage to the base. As a result, four hangars were destroyed, and another three were damaged. The Russians also lost a radar, a support building, and warehouses.

The attack also destroyed supplies on the base, which were stored in specially designated areas. However, British intelligence does not provide information on the destruction of Russian aircraft.

Ukrainians attack targets in Russia

Ukraine regularly conducts attacks on Russian airbases and other military targets in Russia. The purpose of this tactic is to destroy the infrastructure and resources used by Moscow to attack Ukraine's critical infrastructure.

Radosław Sikorski recently revealed that Russia managed to damage or destroy up to 70% of Ukrainian power plants. It is from airports in Russia that planes capable of carrying missiles used to attack targets in Ukraine are launched.
