Joe Biden's decision to withdraw from seeking re-election electrified the world. Kremlin officials, including former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, also reacted to it. Medvedev briefly commented on the matter on Telegram.

Many pieces of information provided by Russian media or government representatives are elements of propaganda. Such reports are part of the information warfare conducted by the Russian Federation.

"Biden is everything... We wish him all the best. The goals of the special military operation (as the war in Ukraine is called in Russia - ed. note) will be achieved," Medvedev wrote on his Telegram account.

Earlier, Dmitry Peskov, Vladimir Putin's spokesperson, also commented on Biden's resignation. He stated, among other things, that Putin called Biden more predictable and, therefore, the preferred candidate for the US presidency. The Kremlin spokesperson emphasized that the US elections, unlike achieving the goals of the "special operation" in Ukraine, are not Russia's priority.

Biden made a decision

On Sunday, Biden announced on platform X that he was withdrawing his candidacy for the US presidency. He addressed the nation in which he justified his decision and declared that he would fulfill his duties until the end of his term.

On Sunday, Biden published a statement on platform X: "Over the past three and a half years, we have made great progress as a Nation."

"America has the strongest economy in the world," Biden wrote. "We've made historic investments in rebuilding our Nation, in lowering prescription drug costs for seniors, and in expanding affordable health care to a record number of Americans."

He added that he will address the nation this week and explain his decision.
