Therian is a subculture in which people identify as animals. They usually also believe that they were born in a human body by mistake and should have been born in the body of a specific creature.
For the Therian community, animal identification is not seen as a choice or a fantasy but as a deep inner conviction or experience that defines their identity. Some therians believe their spiritual or energetic connection with a specific animal stems from reincarnation, while others may interpret it as a spiritual companion.
Therians take over the internet
The Therian subculture has developed mainly in the online environment, where people with similar experiences can connect, discuss, and share their stories. The oldest woman introduces herself as the alpha - the leader of the other "pack" members. The group also includes three other girls. At first glance, the youngest is about 14 years old.
Many internet users do not understand the Therian phenomenon. Some even confuse them with a similar creation known as furry - people dressed up as furry animals or creatures for fun. The Berry family has to deal with a lot of negative comments.
