SUVs and electrification are priorities for most brands, including premium ones, and less popular segments are falling victim to this transformation. An example could be the classic coupes and convertibles, whose numbers are dwindling at an increasing rate.

Among the interesting offerings that will soon disappear from showrooms are the Audi A5 coupe and its convertible version. The Germans are not overly publicizing this decision, merely informing that the A5 family for the year 2025 will consist of the A5 Sportback, S5 Sportback, and RS5 Sportback. As can be easily noted, two important versions are missing.

This means that for the first time in decades, the Audi lineup will lack a cabriolet or coupe, forcing enthusiasts to turn to competitors like BMW or Mercedes. Meanwhile, Audi will focus on SUVs, which are more profitable than models with traditional body styles. Another important goal remains electrification, though it will not be easy.

Currently, electric vehicles are not selling as well as expected, creating unusual challenges for the industry. A few days ago, reports surfaced that Audi is considering ending production of the Q8 e-tron and closing the factory in Brussels.
