A man from Arizona who allegedly threatened to kill Donald Trump has been arrested, reports BBC. Previously, there was a manhunt for the suspect in connection with the former president's visit to Cochise County, Arizona.

The arrested individual is 66-year-old Ronald Lee Syvrud from Cochise County, where Donald Trump was present on Thursday. According to the police, Syvrud allegedly threatened the former president with death in social media posts over the past two weeks.

In the past, he was also involved in driving under the influence and hit-and-run incidents. Authorities also report that Syvrud is wanted for failing to register as a sex offender.

On Thursday afternoon, it was announced that the man was arrested within the county "without any incidents."

Trump on the wanted 66-year-old: I'm not surprised

During a Thursday speech in Cochise County, Trump spoke about his rival Kamala Harris, accusing her of allowing illegal immigrants into the United States. When asked if he knew about the search for the 66-year-old, he stated: - No, I haven't heard that, but I'm not that surprised - he said, citing, "The reason is because I want to do things that are very bad for the bad guys."

This is not the first threat against presidential candidates recently. In early August, a 66-year-old man from Virginia was arrested for allegedly threatening to kill Vice-President Harris and other government officials.

Additionally, in July, during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, there was an attempted assassination of Donald Trump. The Secret Service shot the perpetrator. The incident is currently under investigation by the FBI.

At the end of August, a statement was issued that "What struck former President Trump in the ear was a bullet, whether whole or fragmented into smaller pieces, fired from the deceased subject’s rifle." Trump stated then that he "took a bullet for democracy."
