The Air Canada plane, operated by PAL Airlines, skidded off the runway and partially caught fire at Halifax Stanfield Airport in Nova Scotia. The aircraft, which was flying from St. John’s to Halifax, encountered a landing gear problem. Preliminary reports suggest this was the main cause of the accident.
During the takeoff maneuver, a malfunction occurred, and the plane failed to stay on the runway, resulting in it skidding off to the side and partially catching fire. Fortunately, thanks to the quick response of the emergency services, everyone on board was unharmed.
Videos from inside the plane have surfaced online, showing the terror of the passengers during the emergency landing. Although the event sparked immense emotions among those on board and on the ground, no casualties were reported.
Following the incident, Halifax Airport was temporarily closed, and emergency services immediately took action to secure the area and assist in evacuating the passengers.
