Zelensky brands the latest russian attacks as terrorist attacks
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky condemned the latest Russian attacks, which led to the death of at least four people, as another terrorist crime.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky sharply criticized the recent Russian attacks on Ukraine, which took place overnight and on Saturday morning. As a result of these actions, at least four people were killed. Zelensky described these attacks as another act of terrorism by Russia and once again called for increased pressure on Moscow.
Last night, Russia launched an attack on our cities using various types of weapons: missiles, attack drones, and aerial bombs. Another wave of terrorist crimes, stated Zelensky.
The heaviest attack occurred in Poltava, where a Russian missile destroyed a four-storey residential building, killing three people and injuring ten, including a child.
Destruction in many regions
Attacks also affected other regions of Ukraine, such as Zaporizhzhia, Odesa, Sumy, Kharkiv, Khmelnytskyi, and Kyiv oblasts. In Kharkiv, one person was killed in a drone attack. Zelensky expressed condolences to the families of the victims. The President of Ukraine emphasized that every terrorist attack demonstrates the need for greater support in defence against Russian terror.
Every such act of terror proves that we need greater support in defending against Russian terror. Every air defense system, every interceptor missile, means a life saved. It is crucial that our partners take action, fulfill our agreements, and increase pressure on Russia, emphasized Zelensky.
Operational Command issued a statement
On Saturday morning, the Operational Command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces announced that, due to Russia's attacks targeting various locations, including western Ukraine, Polish and allied aviation had begun operations in Ukrainian airspace.
Three hours later, at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time, a statement was issued on the conclusion of military operations in the airspace. The statement emphasized that no violations of our country's airspace were observed. The military ensures that the situation is constantly monitored.
