In the film, Cynthia Erivo, winner of Emmy, Grammy, and Tony awards, plays Elphaba. Elphaba is an extraordinary woman with green skin who has not yet discovered her true power. Grammy Award winner and superstar Ariana Grande plays Glinda, who has not yet discovered her true heart.

Both characters are students at Shiz University in the fantastical Land of Oz and develop a deep friendship. However, after meeting the Wizard of Oz, their friendship will stand at a crossroads, and their lives will take completely different paths.

Glinda desires popularity and dreams of power, while Elphaba remains true to herself and those around her. Her attitude will have unexpected consequences for her future. Extraordinary adventures in the Land of Oz will ultimately lead them to fulfill their destinies as the Good Witch and the Wicked Witch of the West.
