Wicked brings fresh magic to Oz with a stellar cast and creative team

"Wicked" is an electrifying tale about the extraordinary friendship between Elphaba (the Wicked Witch of the West) and Glinda (the Good Witch). In the untold story of the Witches of Oz, we will see Cynthia Erivo, Emmy, Grammy, and Tony award winner, as Elphaba and Ariana Grande as Glinda.

Elphaba is an extraordinary woman with green skin, who has yet to discover her true power. In the role of Glinda, we will see Grammy award-winning superstar Ariana Grande, who has yet to discover her true heart.

Both protagonists are students at Shiz University in the fantastic Land of Oz and form a deep friendship. However, after meeting the Wizard of Oz, their friendship comes to a crossroads, and their lives take completely different paths.

Glinda desires popularity and dreams of power, while Elphaba remains true to herself and those around her. Her stance, however, will have unexpected consequences for her future. Extraordinary adventures in the Land of Oz will eventually lead them to fulfil their destinies as the Good Witch of the South and the Wicked Witch of the West.

The feature-length adaptation of the untold story of the Witches of Oz will be directed by the electrifying creator, Jon M. Chu ("Crazy Rich Asians"). Wicked, based on the bestselling novel by Gregory Maguire, has been adapted for the screen by screenwriter Winnie Holzman and legendary Oscar®-winning ("The Prince of Egypt") composer and lyricist Stephen Schwartz.

The film will be released in theatres on November 26, 2025.
