Savour the season: Upside-down cinnamon rolls delight

Cinnamon rolls symbolize autumn and winter as the temperature drops outside. The aroma filling the home immediately causes stomachs to rumble, and the youngest family members linger longingly by the oven, waiting for the pastry to be ready. It's something between a classic cinnamon roll and a yeast cake, which everyone tears off piece by piece.

The filling is a classic combination of cinnamon, butter, and sugar. The rolls are placed in a pan that has previously been coated with caramel sauce and nuts. This ensures that you get a delicious, caramelized, and slightly crispy top after baking and flipping the dough.

When cutting the cinnamon rolls for baking, it's worth using dental floss. It will quickly cut through the dough without squashing it, keeping the rolls neatly shaped.

Ingredients:

Dough:

  • about 250 mL of milk,
  • about 1 L of all-purpose flour,
  • about 1 tablespoon of active dry yeast,
  • about 75 g of butter,
  • a pinch of salt,
  • 2 eggs.

Filling:

  • about 60 g of butter,
  • 4 teaspoons of cinnamon,
  • about 125 mL of brown sugar.

Additional ingredients:

  • caramel sauce,
  • pecans.
