Ukrainian forces aid Russians amid their own military strikes

Vadim Mysnyk, the spokesperson for the "Siewiersk" group, announced that Ukrainian forces are providing essential supplies to residents of the Kursk region in Russia, which is under their control. Mysnyk noted, "The Russian population does not understand why they are being shelled by their own forces."

As reported by Mysnyk, cited by RBC-Ukraine, Ukrainians are trying to provide the population in the Kursk region, which is under the control of Ukrainian armed forces, with "everything they need."

This responsibility falls on the military, as we comply with all international humanitarian law requirements. Deliveries include water, food, medicine, and attempts to restore access to water and electricity, even through the use of generators, he said.

Russians shelling their own territories

Despite the absence of Ukrainian troops in certain areas, Russian forces continue to shell local settlements. Mysnyk emphasized that the Russian population does not understand why their homes are hit by fire from their military.

- The local population doesn’t understand why they are being hit, as there are no soldiers even nearby. But the locals are suffering—they are forced to hide in basements for several hours, and sometimes they spend half the day there - Mysnyk added.

Nearly two months into the Ukrainian operation

The operation of Ukrainian armed forces in the Kursk region has been ongoing for nearly two months. It began on August 6th, when Ukrainians launched offensive actions in the border areas of Russia.

The Ukrainian army has taken control of over 100 localities. Recently, Russian forces launched an offensive attempt in the Kursk region, but as reported by Western media, the attempt to reclaim the seized areas failed.
