Ukraine braces for potential Russian missile offensive

Andriy Kowalenko, head of the Ukrainian Center for Countering Disinformation, warns that the Russian Federation is stockpiling missiles and transporting fuel to major military airports, from which large-scale attacks on Ukraine are launched. This may indicate preparations for an attack, Kowalenko warns.

He also noted that the Tu-22M3 and Tu-95MS bombers "are flying between airports in Russia."

"It is possible that the enemy is preparing for strikes," he emphasized. The Russians' target may be critical infrastructure—crucial for Ukrainians as winter approaches.

Ukraine prepares for a large-scale attack

On Tuesday, the Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine, Oleksandr Lytvynenko, stated that with the start of the heating season, massive Russian attacks should be expected.

At the same time, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal assured that more than 99% of residential buildings in Ukraine are prepared for winter.

- With the start of the heating season, we can expect large-scale Russian attacks on the energy sector, - Lytvynenko noted. He observed that Ukrainian energy has demonstrated during the war the ability to implement innovative solutions, and Russia has not succeeded in destroying Ukraine’s economy.

Ukraine is on the verge of the heating season

"Ukraine is on the verge of the heating season. The government, regional military administrations, and local authorities are collaborating (...) to ensure all homes have heat and light in winter," Shmyhal wrote on Telegram.

The Prime Minister emphasized that the first course of action is the preparation of infrastructure, and the readiness of residential buildings exceeds 99%. "The number of schools, kindergartens, and hospitals prepared for winter is also close to 100%. More than 18,000 boiler houses and 4,800 heating plants are ready to deliver heat," he conveyed.
