Onboard the Turkish Airlines aircraft heading from Istanbul to the capital of Taiwan, an incident related to turbulence resulted in minor injuries to six people. This information was shared by Yahya Ustun, a spokesperson for the airline, in a statement issued on Thursday.

The plane, which carried 214 passengers and 17 crew members, encountered turbulence about two hours before its scheduled landing in Taipei.

As a result of these events, four passengers and two crew members sustained minor injuries.

Despite the difficulties, the plane safely arrived at Taipei Airport, where immediate medical assistance was offered to those injured.

Upon request, two of the passengers were subsequently transported to a local hospital for further care.

Turkish Airlines controversies related to religion

Turkish Airlines recently introduced controversial changes in their aviation operations directive, allowing pilots to pray in the cockpit during flights. This decision has caused a stir in the industry.

The new directive, approved by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), allows Muslim pilots to perform religious practices in the cockpit of the aircraft.

Prayers can only take place during non-critical flight phases such as stable flight at high altitude. This decision has elicited mixed reactions. Supporters believe it is a step towards greater equality and tolerance while maintaining appropriate safety standards.
