Salads can be a regular snack and a filling cold dish. This is the case here, where pasta, along with tuna and vegetables, also landed in the bowl. This salad will work great as a party appetizer and a delicious dinner for the whole family.

Tuna and pasta salad

When I tried it for the first time at a housewarming party at my neighbour's, I immediately took the recipe. I wasn't the only one, as the salad bowl quickly became empty. Since then, it's a must-have when friends drop by for a meeting over good food. It's a delicious change from salads that often appear at parties, and the preparation is very simple.

When you don't have time to prepare complicated dishes but want to treat guests to something tasty, reach for this recipe. TTuna salad can be prepared in a few minutes without unnecessary mess. If you want to lighten it up a bit, replace mayonnaise with thick natural yogurt. Choose your favourite type of pasta—penne, fusilli, or elbow pasta will work well.

Ingredients:

  • 200 grams cooked pasta,
  • about 170 grams tuna in vegetable oil,
  • a few cherry tomatoes,
  • half a can of corn,
  • 4 pickled cucumbers,
  • 2 tablespoons of chopped chives,
  • 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise,
  • 1 teaspoon of spicy mustard,
  • salt and pepper to taste.

Preparation:

  1. Cook the pasta according to the instructions on the package. After cooking, drain it thoroughly and transfer it to a bowl.
  2. Cut the cherry tomatoes in half, and cut the cucumbers into cubes.
  3. Add the tomatoes, cucumbers, chopped chives, and drained corn to the bowl with the pasta.
  4. Drain the tuna from the oil and add it to the salad.
  5. Add mayonnaise or natural yogurt, mustard, and salt and pepper to taste.

You can additionally sprinkle the whole dish with roasted pumpkin or sunflower seeds. Enjoy your meal!
