Many of the reports provided by Russian media or government representatives are elements of propaganda. Such reports are part of the information war conducted by the Russian Federation.

Peskov noted that both sides agreed that the conflict can be resolved through negotiations. The Kremlin spokesperson added that he now awaits the first outcomes of the presidents' talks.

However, Peskov emphasized that it is too early to speak about a date for a meeting between Putin and Trump. Saudi Arabia is one of the potential locations for talks. Putin's spokesperson also stated that it is too early to discuss the possible involvement of European countries in the negotiations.

Talk between Trump and Putin

Donald Trump announced on Wednesday that he had a telephone conversation with Russia's leader, Vladimir Putin.

According to Trump, both leaders agreed that they want to stop the deaths of Russian and Ukrainian soldiers in the war in Ukraine. They also agreed to immediately begin peace negotiations, which will be conducted by the appropriate teams.

"I just had a lengthy and highly productive phone call with President Vladimir Putin of Russia. We discussed Ukraine, the Middle East, Energy, Artificial Intelligence, the power of the Dollar, and various other subjects," Trump announced on the social media platform, Truth Social, also adding that he "wants to thank President Putin for his time and effort with respect to this call."

The Russian Foreign Ministry confirmed the conversation. "President Vladimir Putin of Russia and President Donald Trump of the U.S. conducted a telephone conversation," the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs conveyed on platform X.

"The Russian President supported one of the main theses of the head of the American state that the time has come for our countries to work together," the statement added.
