The baby girl was initially transported to a hospital on the island of Formentera and then flown to the Can Misses medical facility in nearby Ibiza. It was there that she lost her fight for life.

Her 33-year-old father was taken to the Formentera hospital with "minor" injuries, according to "The Sun."

The tragic incident occurred on Es Copyinyar beach, a place considered a true paradise. There, one can relax with beautiful landscapes and crystal-clear water.

Tragedy in Spain. What exactly happened?

The victims of this incident are Spanish. The girl's mother was not on the beach at the moment of the tragedy.

Reports indicate that the rock slide occurred when the father stood up to put a pacifier in the child's mouth. A large boulder fell on the child's back, according to media reports.

Witnesses and medics tried to resuscitate the girl at the scene. Unfortunately, their efforts did not yield the expected results.

An investigation into this tragedy is ongoing. It is difficult to answer whether it could have been avoided.
