On Tuesday, June 25, the media reported the death of Seth Binzer, also known as Shifty Shellshock, the lead singer of Crazy Town. The artist's representative revealed the cause of death for the 49-year-old in an interview. The artist struggled for many years with addiction to alcohol and drugs. In 2012, he was even hospitalized due to an overdose.

According to the band's manager, Howie Hubberman, Crazy Town's lead singer, Shifty Shellshock, died from an accidental drug overdose.

Shellshock, whose full name was Seth Binzer, died due to "a combination of prescription and street drugs." Hubberman conveyed these details to People magazine.

Seth has been struggling with substance abuse problems for quite some time. Seth was not happy with the daily struggle that’s called life. Some people cope in many different ways. It’s unfortunate we lose so many people to addiction and accessibility to harmful drugs. Shifty was a real-life tragedy. Too fast, too hard, too soon - he admitted.

The artist struggled for many years with addiction to alcohol and drugs. In 2012, he was even hospitalized due to an overdose. He fell into a coma, but after some time, he recovered. Later, he repeatedly entered rehab.

Although Crazy Town never again achieved the commercial success of the single "Butterfly," the group operated with minor breaks and personnel changes since the mid-'90s. Their debut album sold over 1.5 million copies. Shellshock was one of the band's founders.

Seth Binzer passed away on Monday, June 24, at his home in Los Angeles. The singer was 49 years old at the time of his death.

Binzer has a son, Halo, with his ex-wife Melissa Clark. They married in 2002, but Melissa filed for divorce in 2011 after six years of separation. Binzer then started a relationship with Jasmine Lennard in 2010, and they have a son, Phoenix. Their relationship ended after his arrest in 2012.
