Russian general arrested over deadly orders in Ukraine conflict
Commander of the 20th Army of the Armed Forces of Russia, Sukhrab Achmedov, was removed from his position and arrested, reported the chairman of the movement "We are Together with Russia," Vladimir Rogov, as well as various "Z" channel sources. The Kremlin's RIA Novosti confirmed the dismissal of the "butcher" in its sources. His absurd orders led to the deaths of hundreds of Russian military personnel.

According to Rogov, Achmedov was detained, and the “situation is unfolding.” The “butcher” had commanded the 20th Army since December 2022 and participated in the military operation in Ukraine. Rogov noted that removing Achmedov from his position fulfills the new Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov’s statement about the “need to take care of military personnel.”
Absurd decisions of Achmedov. He sent hundreds of soldiers to slaughter
Achmedov earned the nickname "butcher" with several bizarre decisions that cost the lives of hundreds of soldiers.
One of the massacres occurred in June 2023 near Kremenets in Luhansk Oblast. Several hundred Russian soldiers waited for Achmedov's arrival and his “motivational speech” on the parade ground for over two hours. The gathering of Russians was spotted by Ukrainian intelligence, and the army directed a HIMARS missile to the place.
As reported by Russian war correspondents at the time, 100 soldiers were injured, and over 100 were killed.
At the end of last year, President Vladimir Putin decreed that Achmedov be awarded the military rank of lieutenant general. On the Ministry of Defense's website, the 20th Army is called the "largest association of the Armed Forces of Russia."
Russian general dismissed from the army
Achmedov and his colleague Rustam Muradov previously controlled the Vostok group of soldiers and the coastal forces of the 155th Marine Brigade of the Pacific Fleet.
In November 2022, the infantry sent out an appeal accusing Achmedov and Muradov of "sending them into an incomprehensible attack on a village near Vuhledar."
The brigade wrote an open letter to the governor of Primorsky Krai, stating, "General Muradov and his associate Achmedov, in trying to earn the title of Hero of Russia, may have lost up to 400 soldiers in Pavlivka."
In late March 2024, Russian soldier Sviatoslav Golikov complained that the 20th Army of the Russian Federation was being “slaughtered” towards Lyman near the village of Terny. In an extensive post on Telegram, the military man called Achmedov a “butcher” and suggested demoting him and sending him to a storming unit.
