According to a statement shared on Telegram, the enemy launched an S-300/400 guided anti-aircraft missile from a temporarily occupied part of the Donetsk region and struck the Chernihiv region in northern Ukraine with a Kh-59 guided missile, which was fired from the airspace above the Kursk region. Additionally, 136 combat drones were also used in the attacks.
It was reported that 51 enemy drones were intercepted and destroyed in aerial combat across multiple regions, including Sumy, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Ternopil, Kherson, Kharkiv, Zhytomyr, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv, Kyiv, Poltava, Chernihiv, and Chernivtsi. Additionally, electronic warfare operations disrupted communication with 60 Russian drones in different parts of Ukraine.
Drones also hit their targets
Not all drones were neutralized. The attack caused a fire at an industrial facility in the Ternopil region.
The Institute for the Study of War reported in its latest findings that Russia has upgraded the Shahed-136 drones, enabling them to reach higher altitudes and speeds.
The American think tank bases its conclusions on information from a Ukrainian officer who works in a mobile air defense unit. According to him, the Shaheds were previously very slow, had limited maneuverability, and could only fly at low altitudes.
