Last year, during Russian attacks on Ukrainian ports near the Romanian border, debris from at least four drones fell on Romanian territory. Fortunately, no one was harmed. However, the authorities condemned Russia's attacks and decided to warn residents of border towns about the resulting dangers.

As reported by Romanian media, since autumn of last year, residents of border towns have been receiving warning messages on their phones through the Ro-Alert system.

The latest such alert was received by residents of the northern part of Tulcea County and part of Galați County on Saturday, at 12:45 AM EST.

"Remain calm. Take cover"

"As a result of potential actions by armed forces on Ukrainian territory, Romanian state defence structures informed the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, which in turn passed on the Ro-Alert message to the population," announced the Tulcea Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (ISU) on Saturday morning.

"There is a possibility that certain objects may fall from the air. Remain calm. Take cover in cellars or public shelters. In the absence of shelters, remain indoors, away from windows and external walls," informed the message received by residents of border regions.
