Clarence Seedorf, a former Real Madrid player, expressed significant surprise at the lack of a Ballon d'Or for Vinicius Junior. The Dutchman claims that the Brazilian thoroughly deserved this accolade, and the decision might have stemmed from a conflict between Real Madrid and UEFA.

I think there are problems between Real Madrid and UEFA, which affected some things in the results, Seedorf remarked during an interview with TNT Sports Brasil.

At the same time, he expressed regret that this tension might influence the poll results.

Vinicius Junior is the one who definitely deserves the award. It is a shame, he continued.

The Dutchman added that Vinicius deserved the title owing to his outstanding performances. He also expressed his belief that Vini was the top candidate for the prestigious award.
