U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken emphasized that the United States and other G7 countries are determined to support Ukraine in its struggle. After the G7 summit in Rome, Blinken noted that Ukraine should be prepared to fight through 2025 or negotiate from a position of strength.

Considering what I hear from partners, we will continue to support Ukraine—said Blinken, as reported by the Polish Press Agency.

The American politician added that by the end of the year, a C$68 billion loan for Ukraine is planned to be finalized. The funds are to be derived from frozen Russian assets.

Blinken expressed concern over the deepening cooperation between Russia and North Korea, which also involves North Korean soldiers participating in the war against Ukraine. He pointed out that the Moscow—Pyongyang relations are bidirectional, and the United States is monitoring what North Korea is receiving from Russia in exchange for assistance.

The role of China in the conflict

The U.S. Secretary of State urged China to play a role in blocking cooperation between Russia and North Korea. — The United States will take further steps to strengthen our deterrent and defence capabilities, announced Blinken, as the Polish Press Agency reported. He added that such actions, though not aimed at China, may not be well-received by Beijing.

Blinken also addressed talks on a 60-day ceasefire in Lebanon between Israel and Hezbollah. He expressed hope for a quick finalization of the agreement, which could also increase the chances of ending the fighting in the Gaza Strip.

Blinken repeatedly stressed that further support for Ukraine in the fight is crucial not only from the perspective of European security but also for the U.S. He also assured the unwavering support of the American administration for allies and Ukraine.
