  • Floods continue to plague southern Germany. The number of flood victims in south Germany has risen to four. Chancellor Olaf Scholz announced support for those affected by the disaster. The states of Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg are particularly affected by the floods. Passengers on a cruise ship on the Danube had a dramatic experience. Due to the danger caused by the elevated river level, 150 people had to be evacuated. According to Polsat News, a rescue ship was sent to the anchoring site, transporting 30 people at a time to the shore.
  • The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Monday that they managed to confirm the death of four more Israeli hostages in Hamas captivity. Photos of the victims were published on social media. According to the Times of Israel, the deceased hostages are 79-year-old Chaim Peri, 84-year-old Amiram Cooper, 80-year-old Joram Metzger, and 51-year-old Nadav Popplewell. The IDF did not disclose the circumstances of their death, citing an ongoing investigation.
