Olympic diver Tom Daley puts Paris 2024 beds to the test
Olympic gold medalist Tom Daley conducted an unusual test in the Olympic village prepared for the Paris 2024 Olympics. The video he posted on Instagram shows that the "anti-sex" beds for athletes are very durable!
The star of the British national team, Tom Daley, who specializes in high diving from a 10-metre tower, decided to test the durability of the beds in the Olympic Village in Paris.
When he's not preparing for his fifth consecutive participation in the Olympics with his new synchronized partner, Noah Williams, Daley finds time to conduct, as he calls them, "scientific experiments" for the good of humanity.
The latest of these is a detailed review of the beds in the Olympic village after "The Independent" reported that "anti-sex" beds were installed at this year's Olympics to prevent relationships between athletes.
Daley took matters into his own hands and showed how sturdy these beds were. "For those wondering about the cardboard beds in the village. I'll show you what they're like," the athlete tells the camera on his Instagram profile.
Daley knocks on the bed frame, which seems quite solid, and says, "Then you got the mattress, and these cardboard boxes here, like so, with the mattress on top and a mattress topper, and then we get our own little Paris ‘24."
In the most crucial part of the experiment, the athlete jumps on the bed (the frame doesn't budge) to show how much movement it can withstand. Then he gets on all fours. "As you can see, they are pretty sturdy," he says.
The Paris Olympics will start on July 26th at 8:00 PM EDT and last until August 11th. Considering the strength of the bed frames, we are almost certain that athletes in the Olympic Village can get a good rest!
