North Korean soldiers face new battle: Online freedom in Europe
Soldiers from North Korea who arrived to fight alongside Ukraine outside their country's borders have reportedly become addicted to pornography, according to Western media reports. Kim Jong-un's regime censors the internet, and watching pornography is prohibited under the threat of severe penalties.
North Korean troops have been in Russia for several weeks. According to intelligence data, some of them are already engaged with Ukrainian units in the Kursk region. The rest are expected to soon reach the front lines in Ukraine.
In Europe, many of Kim's soldiers were able to access a free, uncensored internet for the first time in their lives.
In North Korea, only content approved by the regime in Pyongyang is available online, and watching or distributing pornography can lead to imprisonment for up to 15 years.
Kim's soldiers are watching pornography en masse
Meanwhile, as reported by the "Financial Times," the temporary escape from the strict North Korean laws has led many of Kim's soldiers to frequently visit previously inaccessible pornography sites in recent weeks.
The newspaper claims that this phenomenon has become so widespread within the ranks of the North Korean army that many soldiers have become addicted to watching scenes depicting sexual acts.
