The internet has once again been flooded with conspiracy theories after a perfect "square structure" was discovered on the surface of Mars. Mars, one of our closest planetary neighbours, has long fascinated people. Right after Earth, it is the best place for human habitation in our solar system.

According to ladbible.com, the latest discovery on Mars is a mysterious square structure recorded by the NASA Mars Orbiter camera in 2001. Photos of this nearly perfect "object" began circulating on social media, prompting lively reactions.

The structure's appearance, which seems "man-made," has caused a storm on the internet. Proponents of the theory of a long-lost alien civilisation quickly claimed it as evidence of its existence. Skeptics point out that a single photo does not prove anything and that more plausible theories should be ruled out first.

The photo from Mars raises questions

The structure is fundamental, and the photo comes from a small part of a crater on the planet, where the square is at the top. It's not the first time we've been fascinated by seemingly unnatural structures on the Red Planet. In the past, internet users have claimed to find tunnels, faces, and even Bigfoot there.

This time, many people can't believe that an almost perfect square shape could form naturally without intervention from something (or someone). However, it is worth noting that straight lines are not impossible. In responses to the original thread, it was pointed out that natural wonders like the Giant's Causeway in Northern Ireland, the Eye of the Sahara, or the "Fairy Chimneys" in Turkey could seem man-made to an alien visitor.

The image caught the attention of Elon Musk, a well-known Mars enthusiast who would undoubtedly be eager to send SpaceX there if he had the chance. "We should send astronauts to Mars to investigate!" Musk stated in a social media post at 3:00 PM ET.
