Engine fire halts flight from Houston to New York, no injuries
Passengers on a flight from Houston to New York (USA) experienced a terrifying moment when it was discovered that one of the engines had stopped functioning properly. A video circulated online, filmed by one of the passengers, showed flames coming from the engine located under the wing.
The unsettling incident occurred while the plane was preparing for takeoff from George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) in Houston, Texas. The flight was intended for New York. The incident took place on Sunday, February 2, at approximately 9:00 AM Eastern Time.
The takeoff of the Airbus A320 was interrupted at one point. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) later reported that engine problems were the cause. Terrifying videos appearing online show exactly what happened.

One of the passengers recorded a video showing flames under the engine. The footage was published by FOX 26 Houston on their channel. Other people aboard the aircraft were terrified. "Please, get us out!" and "Oh my God!" were some of the cries heard in the background of the video.
Fortunately, everything in this case ended well. The FAA reported that the plane was evacuated. All passengers escaped to the runway and were then transported by buses to the terminal. Firefighters assisted in the operation.
At the time of the incident, there were 104 passengers and five crew members on board. No one was injured, and a replacement plane took off at 1:30 PM, heading for LaGuardia Airport in New York. It is not yet known what caused the fire.
