Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported fires in the districts of Holosiivskyi, Podilska, and Sviatoshynskyi. In Obolon, the fire spread through the industrial zone. "Preliminary reports indicate damage to nearby buildings. All emergency services are heading to the scene," Klitschko stated on social media.

"One person was also injured in the Podilskyi district. Medics have hospitalised him. Earlier, a body was discovered in the same district," Klitschko added.

Russia's stance on peace negotiations

The attack lasted half an hour, with the warning sirens beginning at 4:26 local time. Andriy Yermak, the head of President Volodymyr Zelensky's office, commented that these attacks demonstrate Russia's attitude towards plans to end the war.

"Russia launched a missile strike on Kyiv and the Kyiv region, and air defence was working against the ballistic threat. This is how Putin wants to end the war," Yermak wrote.

"Unfortunately, each public statement from the West regarding progress on the path to peace is followed by missile attacks from the Russian Federation," stated Andriy Kovalenko, the head of the government’s Center for Countering Disinformation.
