Commentators link Tehran's decision with worries about an Israeli response to the Iranian missile attack.
A spokesperson for the Iranian Civil Aviation Authority stated that the flights were cancelled due to operational restrictions, without providing specific reasons — Reuters reported.
Iranian authorities had previously announced flight restrictions on Tuesday. On that day, nearly 200 ballistic missiles were launched from Iran towards Israel, with most being intercepted.
Tehran claimed that the attack was in retaliation for the killings of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, and Revolutionary Guard General Abbas Nilforushan. Iran threatened "crushing attacks" if there is an armed response from Israel. Nevertheless, the Israeli government has already announced plans for retaliation. (PAP)
