Khalil Al-Hayya shared the information during a press conference held in Tehran.
They knew from the shattered room's windows, doors, and walls at that moment. Haniyeh was dead. He argued that the attack on Haniyeh "was not an achievement" because he was a public figure and did not operate in hiding, reported Lebanese television Al-Manar.
However, Iranian journalist and political analyst Jamsheed Barzegar told the exiled portal Iran International that publicizing Haniyeh's travel to Tehran in real time may have helped those who wanted to attack him.
Haniyeh eliminated
After the October 7th attack, Haniyeh travelled to Tehran several times. During all these previous trips, news about his presence in Tehran and meetings were published a few days after the trip ended. He stated that publicizing this news, contrary to earlier practice, somewhat facilitated the situation for Israel.
Living daily in Qatar, Haniyeh was in the Iranian capital on the occasion of the inauguration of Masoud Pezeshkian, the new president of that country.
