German politician Vogel exits race after scandal over comments
German politician Bernd Vogel quickly ended his political career. Until recently, he planned to run for a seat in the parliament from the conservative Alliance of Germany list. However, he resigned following a sex scandal involving him.

With astonishing enthusiasm, Bernd Vogel commented on the photos of erotic models on websites and social media. He often did so in an exceptionally crude manner, using not just direct but rather vulgar descriptions of what he would like to do with the young women displaying their charms.
Vogel's licentious lifestyle might have gone unnoticed if he hadn't posted all the comments from his official profile on platform X, making them accessible to all users.
For his party colleagues and potential voters, the outrage was directed more at the language he used towards women much younger than himself rather than his use of erotic websites.
After the scandal was exposed, Vogel posted a short message online in which he apologized for his comments and announced his withdrawal from the elections.
