Explosive sabotage: Ukrainian-linked drone gear injures Russians
The Telegram channel "Spy Dossier" reported acts of sabotage in the Russian army allegedly carried out by Ukrainian services. This includes "explosive" goggles for Russian drone operators. According to the channel's author, at least eight Russians have recently been injured because of them.
Between January and February 2025, several Russian non-governmental organizations sent about 80 sets of Skyzone Cobra FPV goggles to various military units in Russia. These organizations received the equipment from a person who provided it to them as assistance for the Russian military, reports the "Spy Dossier" channel.
On February 4 in the Belgorod region, the first goggles exploded. As a result of the explosion, the soldier using it sustained facial and eye injuries.
The channel's author, who presents himself as an employee of one of the special services, informed that seven more explosions of these devices were recorded in the Kursk, Luhansk, and Donetsk regions by February 7.
Goggles with C-4
The goggles' remains were immediately examined. It turned out that they found C-4 explosive material, a detonator, and a battery. The explosive device is activated when the goggles' cooling fan is turned on.
Russian services are currently searching for all the goggles distributed by non-governmental organizations.
According to "Spy Dossier," the man who provided the goggles to non-governmental organizations left Russian territory on February 3. He flew from Moscow to Istanbul.
Ukrainian services are currently silent
Ukrainian services have not yet commented on the reports from the "Spy Dossier" channel.
The Ukrainian service "Militarnyi" claims that this operation resembles one carried out by the Israeli Mossad against Hezbollah militants. It refers to a situation on September 16, 2024, when pagers distributed by the Iran-backed terrorist organization Hezbollah exploded, killing at least 12 and injuring over 2,800 people in Lebanon and Syria.
