U.S. companies halt arms sales to Ukraine, await political cues
According to Roman Kostenko, deputy chairman of the National Defense and Intelligence Commission of Ukraine, U.S. companies have halted the sale of weapons to Ukraine. He noted that they are currently awaiting "political decisions" regarding the matter.
Kostenko stated that, according to his information, U.S. arms deliveries intended for sale to Ukraine have been halted, with the companies involved awaiting political decisions.
The deputy emphasized, however, that direct aid from the United States is still being provided.
Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump expressed his willingness to allow Europe to purchase American weapons for Ukraine. This approach could potentially support Kyiv if the White House blocks direct aid.
"Indispensable aid"
The unian.ua website highlights that, according to Kyrylo Budanov, head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine's Ministry of Defense, continued military-political support from the U.S. is vital.
Alexander Karpliuk, a soldier of the 59th Assault Brigade, stressed that specific U.S. aid cannot be substituted. He mentioned essential systems such as HIMARS, Patriot surface-to-air missiles, NASAMS, and F-16 equipment. He also emphasized the critical dependence on Starlink.
