Ollie Watkins emerged as the hero for the England national team, scoring the decisive goal in the semifinal clash against the Netherlands at Euro 2024 (2-1). Following the match, Ellie Alderson, the striker's partner who is six years older, shared her thoughts on social media.

On Wednesday, July 10, the second finalist of Euro 2024 was determined. After the Spanish national team defeated France 2-1 to secure their spot in the final, England joined them with their triumph.

The Sons of Albion faced the Netherlands in the semifinal matchup. Their opponents initially took the lead, but England turned the game around. Harry Kane responded to Xavi Simons' goal by converting a penalty. In added time, Ollie Watkins, who had just entered the field, sealed England's victory.

Thus, the Aston Villa striker became the hero for the England team. This was only his second match in this year's European Championships, having previously appeared as a substitute during the group-stage match against Denmark.

Watkins scored one of the most important goals of his career in front of his girlfriend, Ellie Alderson. After the match, the 28-year-old went to the stands where his partner was seated and exchanged affectionate gestures. Alderson reacted to the Englishman's feat right after the match.

"You deserve it!!!!!," she wrote after the match.
"This picture might be my favourite ever," she added, referring to a photo showing Watkins' joy after scoring the goal.
