The name "windows" comes from the light pieces embedded in the mixture, which resemble colourful, decorative church window glass. This dessert is similar to the popular chocolate block but even simpler. All you need is chocolate, butter, and a few colourful additions.
No-bake stained glass cookies
This dessert is a cross between homemade chocolates and cookies. It's sweet, easy to make, and delicious. Stained glass cookies are truly a feast for the eyes and taste buds. Their name perfectly reflects their appearance – they resemble colourful stained glass that sparkles in bright hues. It's not only a tasty dessert but also a wonderful decoration for any table. No chocolate lover will ignore these cookies.
Ingredients:
- 100 grams dark chocolate,
- 100 grams milk chocolate,
- 100 grams pastel mini marshmallows,
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts.
Preparation Method:
Step 1. Break the dark and milk chocolate into pieces and transfer them to a pot. Add butter and heat until the ingredients melt into a uniform mixture.
Step 2. Chop the walnuts and add them to the melted chocolate. Also, add the small, light-coloured marshmallows. The more additions you include, the more distinct the stained glass effect will be. Pour the mixture into a loaf pan lined with parchment paper. The smaller the pan, the larger the cookie will be. Refrigerate for a few hours, preferably overnight. You can sprinkle the top of the dessert with coconut flakes or shreds.
Step 3. After this time, cut the block into smaller pieces and indulge in the sweet chocolate flavour. Store the prepared dessert in the fridge, in an airtight container, for up to 4 days. You can also freeze the cut stained glass pieces by packing them in a ziplock bag. Take them out of the freezer, place them in the refrigerator, or leave them at room temperature. Enjoy!
