Embrace the egg: Debunking myths about daily consumption
Nutritionist Anna Jedrej dispels myths about egg consumption, highlighting their health benefits. In a video shared on social media, she explains how many eggs you can eat daily.
For years, eggs were seen as a product that raises cholesterol levels and contributes to heart disease. However, as nutritionist Anna Jedrej points out, these beliefs are increasingly being debunked by new scientific studies. Although eggs are a staple in many people's diets, they still raise some doubts.
How many eggs can you eat daily?
In the video posted on Instagram, Anna Jedrej reminds us that experts recommend consuming one to two eggs per day. If you have any doubts, it's a good idea to consult a doctor. Eggs are rich in nutrients, and eating them in the recommended amounts should not be a concern.
Among the benefits of eating eggs mentioned by the nutritionist were:
- providing high-quality protein,
- offering vitamins from groups B, A, D, E, K, as well as potassium, calcium, phosphorus, iron, magnesium, zinc, and selenium,
- containing lutein and zeaxanthin in the yolk, which protect the eyes and improve vision,
- the presence of lecithin in the yolk, which protects the body from cholesterol buildup,
- eggs are also a source of choline, which supports brain function.
The healthiest ways to prepare eggs
From a nutritional perspective, raw eggs have no advantage over cooked eggs, particularly soft-boiled eggs. These are considered the healthiest by nutritionists. An alternative is semi-scrambled eggs.
